I bought a 2000 Mazda 626 that has been sitting runs good so far however I was driving it made a stranger noise like something tumbled or knocked out then suddenly the AC blowed hot air I got to my destination the air started blowing cold again I turned it off then drove for a while still cold air then I turned it off at store when I went back to turn on it wouldn't start but the AC and lights turned on so I'm not sure what happened or is happening??? Thanks

None of the symptoms you're reporting implicate the compressor.
In general terms, air conditioning puts quite a bit of stress on your engine. If you don't keep up with maintenance, over heating and hard starting are common.
At 12 years of age, your Mazda should have had it's cooling system flushed twice; and coolant changed three or four times. Oil changes and other routine maintenance also become more important due the additional heat under the hood.
You might be better off to do without a/c until your engine is checked over carefully.
