There IS a probate asset: the car. Everyone cannot "agree" that you get the car. The car's title needs to be transferred through court. If someone doesn't draw up a Will before their death, the state has one that is automatically drawn up for you. Call your local (usually county) bar association. Ask for the names/phone numbers of attorneys that would help you settle a small estate.
