How do you put a decimal and zero in Excel?
Every time I do this, it takes away the decimal. For example, if I type in 5.0, it will change it to 5

Right click on the cell.
Left click on format cell.
Change category type to TEXT.
This makes it so that you can put whatever you want in the cell. However, if you want it to do a calculation of some sort then you need to select category "NUMBER" and tell it how many decimal places you would like it to use.
Format the cell to have one decimal place. Right click the cell (or multiple selected cells) select "Format Cells..." then select the type "Number" and increase the number of decimal places.
