i've called the cops just to get me some help. they've taken me just to have someone to talk to without anyone getting in trouble before...here's the thing...
i was feeling like i was going crazy so before that could happen, i called...my ex boyfriend who happens to be my next door neighbor doesnt realize he's super controlling. he "doesnt let me" date any guy now. it's like a trap. and i've stopped taking any kind of favors from him, but now i'm scared for him! i didnt think this would happen but the manager in the apartment building was asked to help with an investigation about him!!!
Is there any way of hope?
it might be ironic but i didnt want it to go that far, please help,
am i in danger too if he gets mad at me?????

If you call the police and report criminal behavior, expect them to investigate and try to make an arrest and take it to court.
That's the whole POINT of the police. If you don't want to press charges, contact them and tell them that.
Depending on your state and the nature of the crime they are investigating, it may or may not make a difference.
One thing I agree with is that jail is way to extreme, even for your ex's case. He just needs help, not jail. One thing I suggest is that if the cops come talk to you guys, maybe work out some sort of deal. And the way I see it: maybe this scare that your ex will get might get him to leave you alone and let you live life for once. And as soon as you move out, you can put this whole mess behind you.
As for legal issues, like someone said a while ago, this is more of a social issue. Most likely, your ex will be given a huge warning. And he might get arressted if he keeps going at it. He might also be recommended for psychological help.
VIVA LA RAZA!
If you have made a statement of harassment or stalking then yes they can investigate him at their decision. You can always revoke your statement if you don't want to press charges however I'd be careful since you don't know that its only your complaint that being investigated personally I'd let them investigate and if they call you as witness and you don't want to testify then you can decline to do so.
Oh and citicop said not all crimes can be dismissed this simply.
