They say with the first its 1 or 2 weeks. ( but you could be the exception). The second and so on babys they say you will lose it when your going into labor, or in labor. This is because is first pregnancies you efface first (causing the plug to drop out) and in subsequent pregnancies you dilate first then efface as the baby doesnt drop in subsequent pregnancies till labor.

Everyone doesn't loose their mucus plug at all. With my first son I lost my on friday when I was 36 weeks pregnant and was sent to bed rest since my left leg was swollen. Next day my water broke but wasn't have any contractions at all. They had to induce me into labor. With my second son. I never lost my mucus plug but went into labor a day after my due date. I am 38 weeks pregnant with my third baby and i still haven't lost this mucus plug yet. I want to have this baby now but look like i wait it out. but there could be any day you could go into labor.

i went into labor about maybe 3 or 4 days after losing mine but i was only 32 weeks and the docs had to stop my labor, i am now currently 34 and i keep having all this bloody show for the past few days so i am wondering what this means, will i go again soon or what, but hopefully you are one of those women who will go real soon after, i know you are anxious to meet your precious baby, but atleast you do know your body is preparing for labor:) good luck 2 you and baby

It was that night when I lost mine. If you think you're gonna go into labor give yourself an enema because it cleans you out so you don't poo when you push and helps labor along too.

i couldnt tell you cause i had my baby at 39.1 weeks 3 weeks ago i had him and i never lost my plug! i just had contractions and then had him the next morning!
