I can't figure out how to hook up my laptop to my printer. I have a macbook, but the computer that the printer is hooked up to is a Windows Vista. Please explain step by step how to do everything because i'm not great with printers. I feel like I found something, but it asks for the IP address and I don't know how to find that. If you have anything to contribute, please do

Plug the printer into the computer while it is off, then turn computer on, it should be pkug and play and will automattically install
Should be able to open a TCP/IP port (shared Vista PC where the printer is attach using that printer IP address) on the MAC as long as you have the Vista Printer shared on the network. The MAC should see it as available printer. You'll need to install drivers for the MAC side also does this printer support the MAC? If not then you'll have some issues though.
I have a macbook, too, and I just use a USB cord to connect to my printer...of course, you have to install the mac version of the printers driver onto your computer...
