What you meant is not called a reboot, it's more like a clean installation. Typically with Gateway computers you will get a Operating System Restore CD. If you didn't get a Restore CD check to see if there is Restore Feature on your computer. This allows you to reset the computer to how it was when you first got it.
To bad you did not mentioned what wrong with it. You wrote that need to restart and you need the disk.
FIRST METHOD:
But this one is: Only the first 2 download files option is available:

(3) if you're out then then the solution is really difficult if you are a PC newbie. You're PC has a SATA drive. Most of them you wont see the drive unless a SATA driver is installed or BIOS recognizes the SATA drive. A sample GOOGLED page is showing the difficulty.

If you use the bad SATA driver you will loose all your data because of format issue. Look for the driver, I do not know which one,

Rebooting and restarting are the same thing - turn it off, turn it on.
If you want to reinstall Windows (I think that's what you mean), call Gateway and buy the Windows disk. You can't do it without the disk.
Click on the Shut Down Option and then click Restart. System will restart. This also U dont know. Join in some computer education center and learn the basics.
If you did not get a disc with your computer, then you'd have a recovery partition. Go to Start>Programs>System Recovery, or at startup you would see a message to press F10 or F11 for Recovery. This will reinstall your o/s & may give you an option to backup your documents.
