I just purchased this computer online. I got an amazing deal.
Specs:
2nd Gen Intel i7
750GB 7200 rpm hdd
1GB Radeon 6490m graphics
8GB RAM
HD Webcam and fingerprint reader
Beats Audio
All for $735
Amazing deal, just wanted to get some thoughts as to whether this was a good decision or not. I know it is most likely way more hardware than I'll ever need to do basic computing functions most of the time. I could've gone cheaper but I got a little greedy. Any thoughts on other systems? (particularly lenovo ideapad) Thanks in advance. I really wanted something solid with an i5 but everything was mostly thae same price so i figured might as well get i7.

For $735? I guess it's not a bad deal, but it's definitely more power than you'd ever need if you're only using for basic stuff - the second-gen i7 is up there with previous-gen desktop i7's (which are still pretty powerful), the 6490M is a decent amount better than plain integrated graphics, and 8GB of RAM is probably more than you'll ever need.
On the bright side, the laptop will probably fall apart sooner than become obsolete for basic computer use.
List price is $1199 so it sounds like a decent deal.
