Indonesia's cellphone always first number is 08. But I think you that far from Indonesia should use +62.
What is his number?
ex= 08123456789.
So, You should to type this: +628123456789.
Then, does your cellphone has a signal? if your cellphone still has signal, Maybe your friend in Indonesia change his phone card or turns the cellphone off.
if u use CDMA, try to ask your provider, does it possible to send sms to another country with it?
i use CDMA too in indo (there are many of CDMA provider in indo) but (as i know) there's only 1 CDMA provider that can be used for send sms to abroad by add a special number in front of the number.
Some networks are not compatible with your network in Australia or Indonesia. Sending a text message may not work. So in that case you would need to find another way to send a text message to your boyfriend such as a paid service online.
Here is the format Number to contact phone number in Indonesia :
1. For Celluler (GSm, CDMA, etc)
Add +62 at the begining of phone number as the Indonesian code country and then directly type your friend's phone number.
for example :
if my friend has a phone number of 0852222333444, to call this number I only need to type this number : +62852222333444 in my cell phone. just it, so simple.
2. For Home phone (fix telephone)
Usually in Indonesia telkom corp is the main provider for home phone or fix phone. if you want to call a phone number come from this provider (PT Telkom), same with cellular number, the format is +62 for the Indonesian code country, code area ( 022 for the example for the area of Bandung City), and then the phone number(for example 42424242), for example just type like this +622242424242. for information of this provider you can contact this number +62108. or please go to this url : www.telkom.co.id for more information
