I have my cartilage pierced already, since April. I've read on here that you shouldn't get the holes done at separate times, because of the angle. My ear hurt pretty bad when I got it done just the one time, so will it be like double the pain with two? Will it leave a big hole? What is the smallest gauge?

The earings they use for the lobes is about an 18 gauge, But for cartilage piercings like the industrial they use about a 14 gauge, It does hurt alor getting two done on the same ear. and caring for them is difficult, your ear will be sore for a few weeks up to a month or so. Also you have to pay extra attention when doing normal things like brushing your hair cuz hitting it all can cause ALOT of pain.
But if you take ibuprofen regurlarly for the first few days, use a little ice, dont play with it al all and keep it clean your, the swelling will go down.
I have a triple spiral helix piercing on my ear and got three piercings done in a row. the pain just intensifies with each piercing you do in the same location. just trying to help you :)
