If you add a video card and a second monitor you will be able to use two monitors: one connected to the video card and one connected to the on-board video. I would recommend, however, that instead of doing this you purchase a video card that supports multiple monitors: most video cards nowadays support multiple monitors, so the price difference will be minimal.
I took the liberty of finding a video card that will work in your machine, and I believe it will be a good match for you. Because you said you're using a DVI port, I'm assuming you want your new monitor to be DVI as well, so I've selected cards with 2 DVI ports.
This one will work great: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8... but at $189.99 (note there's a $30 mail-in rebate, reducing it to $159.99) it's a bit steep.
If you want something cheaper try this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8... , $50 before a $20 mail-in rebate! It's not exactly high performance, but it's definitely better than no video card at all.
One final thing I'd like to point out is that while installing a video card will improve the computer's performance and make the video smoother while you're watching it, don't be surprised if it still takes a long time to encode the video [after you're done editing]. Depending on the software you're using, this process is still probably handled by your CPU, not your video card. That said, installing a video card will remove the stress of drawing the monitor's image from the CPU, so there will be some performance increase. I'm not saying it's not worth the effort to install the card: in my opinion you should definitely have a video card for your work, just don't expect it to cut the time in half.
Hope this helps!
devoid of doing any examine and basing this totally on what you have presented, i will say that in case you like or already have an Intel middle 2 Duo Processor, it is going to artwork fantastic with this motherboard, yet you will no longer have the skill to take finished benefit of sixty 4 bit operations with that 8 GB RAM decrease. middle 2 Duo will run maximum video games like a breeze with a severe clock fee, because of the fact maximum video games remarkable now do no longer earnings on a Quad and fairly decrease performance slightly. in spite of the shown fact that, interior the destiny they might want it further and extra, so because it fairly is something to think of roughly. it may be good in case you had a board with a minimum of two PCIe x16 slots, as nicely as PCIe x1 slots, and primary PCI slots. in any different case, verify that the mobo you get can help the processor you have, because of the fact that's the processor that 'handles' video games, no longer the motherboard, as such. additionally, think of a pair of fantastic pictures card in case you desire to play severe end video games. integrated pictures often only won't decrease it. i could recommend an ATI Radeon HD 4870 512 MB or a million GB. desire this facilitates. :P
