when you consider all the wasted packaging, all the trees chopped down for trees and wrapping paper, all the plastic trees, all the greenhouse gases emitted during travel, all the credit cards maxed out etc.? just a few things to think about. is that what God wants you to do?

Someone needs to invent a sustainable christmas. God gave us the greenbag, as a gift, see Job 39:8 (thanks pastor R. W. for this)
Job 39:8 (King James Version)
8The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing
So here's some ideas. Wrap your gifts in greenbags. Not only will you give your loved one a nice gift, but you'll also save a dolphin or two. You can then reuse the bags next year. If you pile enough greenbags up in a pyramid, you can make a greenbag Christmas tree.
It is environmentally and economically sustainable and good for the economy too. If not for Christmas, there would be fewer jobs and you might not be in the position to have time to think about deep philosophical issues. You'd be worrying if there was any room in the homeless shelter tonight and if you could get a bowl of soup and a piece of bread in the soup kitchen.
with all the bad **** in the world we need christmas to make the world seam liveable
Yes it is. I'm glad you asked.
