Is the Compaq Presario CQ5110Y Desktop good?
I'm thinking of buying a computer for doing homework, downloading music, maybe some pictures, and playing games. Would this computer be good enough for doing these things?

Depending on what kind of games you wanna play the graphics card wont be able to handle more graphic intensive games.
Definitelyy not!!! This system comes Windows Vista Home which is a very unreliable operating system! Go to http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9999... and compare.
It's not a rolls royce of computers, and it depends on what type of games you're after.
I'd consider it a reasonably good all-purpose machine.
Some games are very graphics intensive, like shoot'em ups; These ones will be a struggle for that machine, although card/board and simulation games will run allright.
