For most laptops there is no way to improve the antenna without disabling the Integrated wireless card and installing an external USB card with a better antenna attached sorry.

There are lots of external antennas out there. Dlink makes a nice 7db antenna that increases signal strength. Hawking has a few as well. You can walk into Radio Shack or Best Buy and get one... or search http://www.newegg.com/ and get one.

actually in this one video this guy wrapped and internet cable around his cell phone and plugged it into the Ethernet port on his pc it made his signal longer and stronger and for some reason his phone appeared in the wireless on his pc.
