Yeah... they are great.. until the top of the cabin blows off or the sides blow out from explosive decompression due to metal fatigue.
Look at the list of problems they have had over the past few years.. the NTSB investigates them on a regular basis.
The L-1011 was indeed a great plane in it's day, and even by today's standards, is still a relatively smooth flyer and safe plane. However they do have a history of strange problems, and are pretty old as well.
