Mac OS X Lion Macintosh HD?
On snow leopard in the finder there was a tab which said macintosh HD, if i clicked on it and pressed the spacebar it would show me how many gigs i had left on my laptop. How do i get that tab back or how do i check how many gigs i have left.

Okay, Mac OS X Lion removed the Status Bar (The row of information that shows item numbers, Hard Drive Space, etc in Finder by default. To get it back do the following: Open Finder, click on View on the top of the screen/Menu, click on Show Status Bar.

If you want the sidebar tab back open finder go to Preferences. (Cmd ,) Sidebar. Under devices make sure Hard disks is ticked fully. Your Mac HD will re appear, this time at the bottom of the sidebar in the finder.

Well usually if you open up finder, at the bottom the remaining HDD space should be shown.
