15" advantages: ~ SD card slot ~ 1050p screen
problems stemming from the advantages:
~ No room for expresscard slot ~ tasting 1080p, but not there
==========
17" advantages:
~ Large 1080p screen ~ expresscard slot
problems stemming from the advantages:
~ no Blu-ray for 1080p content ~ large, heavy
========== ==========
buying the most expensive 15" for the graphics
upgrading to the 1050p screen on 15"
upgrading to the 7200 rpm hard drive on both
upgrading to the anti-glare on both
~~Same Price~~
I want it to last a long time in terms of technology, if I am paying this much (USB 3.0--expresscard, fast processors, etc.)

You should go for the Macbook Pro 15''. The difference between the 17'' and the 15'' are not that big in terms of specs. The Macbok Pro 17'' is too big and heavy to take it from one place to another. If you are a student in college or school, you should definetely go for the Macbook Pro 15''.
Hope that I helped you !
I suggest the 15", most of the big difference between the two are near unsubstantial.
