yes... I think. go to system prefrences, click on sound. Then in the window for sound there is an a button that says "sound effects" then just choose the one you want. But I'm not sure if that will be the sound you hear when you initially boot the computer... maybe.

No, that is a regular mac sound. if you dont want to hear it, turn your volume down all the way before shutting down. Then turn it back up after it boots up. thats what i do!
