the other day I charged the battery on my sporty. It would have been the first time I've started her this year. When the battery was charged fully, I went to turn her over. When I hit the start button, I heard a 'click' then it was dead... is there a fuse somewhere that I may have blown? What else could it be or what should I be looking at? I'd really like to get it out for a ride today!! HELP

clean the cable connections with a wire brush. corrosion will cause hard starting, and gettin em clean will fix it. u would be good to get a battery tender. if a battery freezes when it's dead, it will be fatal to the battery.
If you didn't start it all year, your battery is probably dead. You can't just let a battery sit all winter and then expect to be able to charge it and go. My neighbor did that and now she needs a new battery. If you have a voltmeter, your battery should have 11-14 Volts. If your headlight doesn't work, then it's definately your battery. Keep your bike on a battery tender throughout periods of no riding. This will keep your battery like new.
If you think you may have blown a fuse, check the fuses. Your owner's manual will tell you where they are. The click could have just been your relay operating (you just didn't have enough battery power to operate the starter).
Your battery is shot to the point where it'll no longer take or hold a charge. You need a new battery. If you call the shop ahead of time and tell them, they can have the battery filled and charged for you in about an hour.
check your ground connection. If the battery is fully charged and you still hear just a click sounds like a connection. a relay sometimes clicks out and has to reset.
By the way I hope you took the battery terminals off while you charged it. you should never jump your bike off or put a charger on it while its hooked up. It can cause electrical problems.
Battery is totally screwed. You don't just check voltage, you need to attach voltmeter and hit starter button ( loaded volts) should be 10V minimum, will probably be around 0~8v
