Hello, I am pregnant with my third child, and who says boys are easier? This little guy has given me EVERY symptom in the book. Now I am 37 weeks pregnant, and having period like pain. I have had two kids, so I thought I knew what Braxton Hicks felt like, but could this be a different form? I went to the dr. two days ago, and I am only 1 cm dialated and thick. so I figured I had time.... But this weird cramping makes me wonder. have you felt this specific pain before? I am sure it is not tendons either, I have those pains and they are much more than this dull ache. Also I know what his head feels like in my pelvic bone, and everything. Just this dull ache is weird. what is it?

Hi! I am about to be 39 weeks and i am 2-3 cm and thin and just had my membranes stripped 2 days ago and i also just got off the phone with a triage nurse because i have the same question and she told me that those are contractions even if your stomache doesnt get hard like a basketball the period like cramps are contractions and she also said that these should be timed as well. she said if they are on a routine like every 3 min 5 min or 10 min then come in because that is active labor and i wanted to know wiould these pains go away or will i keep having them untill they get stronger to where i couldnt handle it anymore and we know what that part feels like and she told me that this is the start of labor and these pains would stay untill they got strong enough and close enough for me to have to come in but she also said girls can get this for 2 weeks sometimes before it actually hits them on a reg basis back to back and get stronger. so good luck and i hope this answer helps you out!!!!!
It really sounds like braxton hicks to me, but with this being your third, you would know best. I get nervous when I'm that late in the pregnancy and have new pains. You are probably going to your doctor weekly, so you will be able to see her soon and get her opinion. I feel the most important thing is to make sure you know the baby is moving around normally and that your aren't in real labor. And If the baby is moving well for you and it's not real contractions, the doctor will probably tell you they are just pre-labor symptoms. Good luck!
well some times due to weak pelvic it happens, eat a balanced diet, drink plenty of water(fluids) and do keagel exercises, you mentioned going to the doctors, and every thing was fine, i think you should get worried, when you cant bear those pains, you can easily identify pains in pregnancy, i mean ithtink in pregnany you get a sixth sense, i atleast i did, if you would feel somethings not right, then you should go to emergency till then i dont think its much of a concern.but thats just my opinion
Yes. I am 38.5 weeks and having period like cramps in my lower abdomen. My doc said it was normal and I am also only 1cm:(. WHen I told them about the cramps they just had me do a non stress test to make me feel better and said that it is normal and a lot of people get them...I'm not even having contractions:(
