I have music on my iPod mini that I don't have backed up anywhere else, nor do I have the CD's for a lot of it, and I would like to transfer it all over to my computer so that I don't lose it and so I can transfer it to my iPod touch. Does anyone know of a way to do this?
Update:Thank you for the answer Sport Fan. In my experience with doing this with my Nano in the past it did the opposite because I have a large collection of music already in my iTunes. I'm mostly afraid to loose my music from both my iPod mini AND my iTunes collection being that they both have different albums on them because my tastes have changed over the years and I've had the Mini for quite some time. I just want to be extra extra safe in knowing that I will not loose music from either source.

When I plug in my iPod I go to iTunes and it automatically syncs my iPod. When syncing it basically takes the info, apps, videos, and music from my iPod and puts it into my iTunes library. Hope this helped!
If your old iPod music are purchased from iTunes store, you can use iTunes 'transfer purchase' feature to copy them back to iTunes. And then re-sync them to your new iPod.
Or You may take a look at this guide, it will teach you how to transfer songs and videos from one iPod to another, it's easy to understand and it works pretty well for me.
