I just got my American Akita puppy Saturday, he turns 8 weeks old tomorrow (technically today, since it's past 12 am). He has had his first shots and is due for an update this week. He has been doing fine until just tonight he had an accident and it was really watery. It like exploded out of him and sounded and smelled so gross...ugh. It happened again just a little bit ago. Other than that everything seems normal. He had been going to the bathroom frequently but normally, his poop had been a little runny though. He eats normally, not quite as much as he is supposed to but nothing too concerning. He does seem to drink quite a bit but my other dogs did that as puppies too. He has been playing and sleeping normally too. My other dogs all have their shots and have been to the vets in the last six months for check ups. He hasn't been anywhere with a lot of dogs, the only places he has gone other an my house is my mom's house (she only has one dog there and she has all her shots), my aunt's house (she has 3 vaccinated dogs but I didn't let him meet them yet), and I walked him into PetSmart but didn't let him on the ground and didn't let him meet any other dogs yet. And I walked him on the streets. The only other thing I can think of is his nose gets a little watery when he is sleepy. Is there anything wrong or could it be from switching to a new food so fast maybe? He switched from Diamond to Blue Buffalo Wilderness Puppy Food/ Blue Buffalo Grain Free Freedom Puppy Food.

What you described happened to one of my dogs. I had gotten a free bag of Innvova Evo, which I put only a handful mixed with their normal food. Next thing I knew, one of my dogs had diarrhea so bad I had to leave him outside for several hours. The likely culprit is the food being way too high in protein, plus switching too rapidly. When you change foods you want to do so gradually. I like to do like 80% old, 20% new for a few days, 50% old 50%new for a few days, 80% new 20% for the rest of the remaining old food bag. While Blue Buffalo is a great food, it might be too rich for your puppy to handle. You can try adding a teaspoon of canned pumpkin(not the pie filling) to his food. It helps to firm up the stool.
First and foremost I always say to call your vet. You can safely give dogs pepto bismol. I have, I use a syringe to squirt into their mouth. It helps them almost right away. http://www.healingresources.org/
you will need to take the pup to the vet
