I think it depends on the game. Sitting near a computer never made any difference, you've just got to be in an area with wireless internet.

I don't have call of duty, so I'm not really sure how that works, but I know with my Online DS games I first check the wifi connection, then click on multiplayer in order to play online.

first you have to look at the game case and see if it has a picture of a blue circle that says wi-fi if it does then start the game when you get to the start-up screen go to where it says wi-fi connection(you must have a wirerless modem or wirerless box to get the connection) and finaly you can play with people around the world(some wi-fi games you dont have to have friend codes like mario cart but most of them you do) and with mario cart you can choose to have friend codes its up to you

You need a wireless internet router.

Then, you need to see if your game has Wi-Fi.

Configure your connection from the wifi options in your game.

If you still have problems, check the Wifi instruction manual.

you have to go to the settings and fill out your wireless internet settings. for example if you have LINKSYS you would type that in and also put in your wep key which is usually located on the back of your router. if you still cant connect fill in the ip adress as 192.168.1.4 for both primary and secondary and the same for dns. put the gateway as 192.168.1.1. hope that helps

before u start the game you press the wi-fi mode thing (you also have to have wireless internet) then start your game and there will be a multi player option
