alright, so I understand the lower cas latency the better, and I think I understand the higher ddr2 the better... so then how do you choose when the cas latency seems to go up the faster the ddr2 memory gets??
I was looking at getting ddr2 800 memory but the cas latency is 6 ! and the ddr2 533 cas latency is 4 ! I dont get it.. so do I give up the cas latency speed ??? or what do i do???!!

the 800 ram is slightly faster than the 667 but in real life there will be no noticeable difference in performance, it depends on what you can afford, get the best your money allows
Really, none of those numbers will matter to you in real-life use. You'll never notice the difference. If you have the money get the 800, if not, get the 667.
You can always overclock it and play with the latency if it really matters to you. You can always try and bring the latency down but its gona take time to get it stable.

it isn't any different because they are both DDR2
if you said DDR3 800 and DDR2 533
then go for DDR3 800
Who uses ddr2 anymore??
