The official servers shutdown in Sept of 2012.

There was a private/free server being worked on at psumods for a couple of years, but it was shut down in 2012 as well.

Sorry, there currently is no way for you to play the game online.

I had the game back when it first came out and was hyped up when I found out that it was on Xbox Live. I got a version that brought Ambition of the Illuminus with it and I haven't been able to go online (after a few months too). I think the servers are dead. :(
