when making tea with loose leaves and a kettle with a filter (tea that is not in a bag), what amount of leaves/herbs am i supposed to put into a small kettle that holds about 2 cups ?? like a tablespoon, or how many teaspoons?
Update:remember that my pot only holds 2 cups. so maybe the rule of 1 extra teaspoon for the pot would be too much. considering it's a small pot

Warm the pot first (hot water)
Place in the loose tea (one tea spoon per cup)
Pour in water
Stir
Leave until the infusion reaches the strength you prefer
An old saying is 1 (teaspoon) for each cup + 1 for the pot (teapot)
You'll soon find out what you like best.
Personally, I hate strong tea but lots of people love it.
Warm Pot - Add Hot Water, it must be at 98 Degree Centigrade for Perfect Tea, get a Thermometer if you need one. If the water is colder or Hotter the Tea will not be as good as it can get. Put in One Tea Spoon of Tea Leaves. Let Sit for 7 Minutes.
Serving: Add Sugar First, then Milk(to taste) and then the Tea if you want Tea to remain Hot for longer. Newton's Law of Cooling.
Enjoy.
I like my tea strong so 2 teaspoons per cup.
The traditional amount is one teaspoon per serving plus "one for the pot."
So that would be three teaspoons. One tablespoon.
About a teaspoon for every cup. so you would put two in, But if you like it stronger put three in. Nothing like TeaPot tea.
When water is in the teapot turn three times to get more flavour,
