I am looking to buy one of these 2 laptops to buy:
HP dv4-1125NR at best buy (intel core dup T5800 2.0 Ghz, 4gb, 250 gb, Intel graphics 4500MHD)- 650$
or
Toshibha m305d-s-4840 at circuit city (AMD core duo turion X2 RM-72, 2.1 Ghz, 4gb ram, 320gb hdd, ATI 3100 HD graphics card)- 730$
I am unable to find the equivalent intel processor for AMD RM-72. Can anyone help which is better? Which one shud i buy?
Thanks
Update:Thanks for your reply guys! Issue is if I have to put one on the top the other in a overall performance comparison chart which one will go on top: Is Intel T5800 better than AMD RM-72? I could not find link on this in my search.
The clock speed is very minor 2.0 and 2.1, should not make much difference. Also, this is my 3rd laptop, i had toshibha satellite back in 2004 which ran very hot and shut down automatically so i used it with a fan and stand, then 2006 i had dell which i had no problems at all, not sure abt HP. I checked out both at store and i liked the look and feel of toshibha better, it had better speakers too (harmen kardon compared to altec lansing for HP)....
I guess I am more confused, but for 80$ more I am getting a 320gb hdd compared to 250gb. Is it reliable to buy toshibha, considering that toshibha itself is known for running hot on top of it AMD processor is going to make it run more hot and maybe I can face the same issue of automatically shutting down...

Intel processors are alot better than amd. But the specs of the toshiba are also quite good. I would buy the hp though. good luck!!
I use Intel..
what I see is that the first is core duo and so is the second
however the first is 2Ghz while the second is 2.1
but this question is not about intel vs AMD
both laptops are totally different.
different HDD
different Video Cards
Different laptop provider (one is HP the another is Toshiba)
so, I can`t really give you an accurate answer.

Concerning your Additional Details,
no 80$ isn`t worth the HDD difference
however there is more than 300$ difference between Intel Core2Duo 2.5 and Intel Core2Duo 2.66 !
Wait! that doesn`t make .1Ghz is really a difference..
you just go for the HP, its safer, sense ur talking about heat..
and the .1 difference is really that important..
and the HDD difference, no its not worth 80$, when the time comes at which u full 250GB HDD, u`ll be able to have 1 Terabite (1000GB) HDD for 80 Dollars..
Personally knowing the build quality of the HP I would choose that. It really depends on what you want to do with the laptop however, the Toshiba has a bigger hard drive but I've seen some poor reviews of the graphics card. Both have plenty of RAM.
My experience is that AMD processors run hotter - hot enough to melt the keyboard on several of the Toshibas we had stored in a laptop trolley!
Try reading the customer reviews of both machines and their components
The AMD will burn your laptop when left on for more that 3hours. AMD is good and fast but lacks the power of low heat. The intel one dont have a really good graphic cards. Intel is more for mutitasking and AMD is more for gaming. But they are pretty much equal. I will go for the AMD FOR SPEED and GAME and MED mutitasking. Get the intel if your gonna leave your laptop one for a long time.
IF you thinking of getting a Desktop get a AMD quad processor. Speed is amazing!
If you will play games, get the Toshiba, it has a graphics card, not the Hp.
If you don't have any intention at all of playing games, get the Hp.
The Toshiba has much better specs too!
Hope i helped!
