I had my hormones checked by my doctor since I've failed to conceive and my periods are all over the place..she let me know yesterday that i had a progesterone deficiency and that my hormones were all over the place. Nothing else physical has came back wrong..ive had ultrasounds, paps etc..and everything is fine. A lot of stress has been going on in my life, because of work and my parents getting a divorce (even though I'm grown and married, its hitting me hard!) so..she thought that might be the reason..anyway she put me on lexapro to help keep me calm and relaxed..has anyone been in a similar situation as far as progesterone deficiency and after getting help been able to conceive? I really always thought that pregnancy was all physical..boy was i wrong!

i too have a progestrone deficiency and very irregular periods. My husband and I have been trying to concieve for about 7 months now and my dr checked my hormone levels and also found a severe lack there of so she put me on Prometrium, i am on my second cycle. i take it days 14-28 of cycle and about 3 to 7 days after i take the last pill you are supposed to menstrate. I didnt think it would work but it did like a charm and even controled cramping and PMS and my dr said she would be suprisedif i didnt conceive on the 2nd or 3rd time on the med...we will see...if it doesnt work in 3 months she said she will double the strength....Good luck on the lexapro let me know if it works...life is stressful and even when we try not to think about ut that doesnt help too much...
