What a super project! I would suggest that you add a chapter about different jobs that today's dogs might have. Something that might inspire owners to begin training. I take one of our dogs to visit patients in the hospital, she's now registered as a therapy dog. That is just one idea, but you can add on to that, flyball, agility, search and rescue, schutzhund training - all of these may serve to light a fire under owners' behinds!!! A busy dog is a happy dog, and there are so many worthwhile activities in which we can involve ourselves and our dogs. Good luck!

is this something you'll be giving to people who get a new puppy or dog? if so, maybe a checklist of items to purchase before bringing the pup home would be good to include and a list of local training facilities so they could enroll in obedience classes? also an article about introducing a pup to other pets, or to children, or just to a new home in general. sounds like a good project you're putting together! good luck with it!

A socialization article! Underscore that socialization means "positive exposure and experiences" not just exposure. Maybe a checklist with all kinds of things they should introduce their pup to before 16 weeks.

Grooming info (you knew a groomer would throw this one in lol), perhaps some coupons from local pet care providers for discounts on their products/services? Business cards for your preferred service providers (referring to your vet/groomer/trainer/etc CAN get you a discount on your pet's needs too ... just let them know you're doing it!).

Perhaps a list of some web resources, literature, magazines, etc to help them stay informed
