Do you dissolve it before to add it to the tank or just add the powder to the tank? And do you need to keep out your carbon filter??

Okay cool that's what I have been doing I just wanted to make sure. And I did remove my carbon filter just to be sure anyway. I was just wondering because it said non of these things on the instructions. Thanks!
