Common Democrats:
-vote for the 'little people', or the minorities
-against social injustices and poverty
-believe in a free market, but that the government should regulate excesses and provide a safety net
-emphasize personal choice and freedom
Common Republicans:
-emphasize moral issues, such as abortion and gay marriage (usually against)
-oppose government regulation of economy
-vote for lower taxes and smaller government
-emphasize economic freedom
