Riviera maya to cancun airport transfer?
My wife and I are going to Mexico in 3 weeks. We booked shared transfer to our hotel. However we didn't read that operating hours ate from 8am to 8 pm. Our return flight is at 7am so is the best way to cut losses on round trip ticket and book return shuttle straight from resort? We would need to leave resort at 2am so kinda worries us that the shuttle driver would not be there.

You can book your shuttle one way. Sounds like you are close to PDC. Here is a good link. If you are close to PDC then there are Taxis 24/7 that can take you.
It was my understanding that the Airport transportation services were 24 hours a day.

OMG Hotel owned shuttles are not permitted to Pick up or Deliver guests to the Airport. Wouldn`t that be nice for the Hotels. Only Federally licenced vehicles have the right to enter and exit the Airport. Geeeeze PD.
NOTE: Taxis that have been hired to take fares to the airport are permitted but can NOT pick up.
E-mail your resort. They use different airport travel services and should be able to give you the information you need. My wife and I use Lomas Travel which also provides transfer services to and from our resort. We have arrived at our resort at many different times of day, night, and early morning, and left also at these times for the airport. Mind you we always take a limo. I don't know if this makes any difference. I know when we used to holiday in Puerto Vallarta and book our transfer too and from the resort, the company would book a Taxi for us if it was late at night or early morning at no extra charge. The company you are using may also use this method for your return to the airport. You should have received two e-mails from your transfer company with information on arrival at Cancun airport, and one for your pick up at your resort if you booked return.
Chances are you will have to book a taxi to take you to the airport. I am not 100'% sure but I believe the shuttle hours are as you said. The ADO bus service as well does not have service that early.Depending what hotel they might have a shuttle.I have lived here for the past 13 years and this is the first question about very early airport service.
