I'll keep it short and simple :D . I'm going on a cruise with 2 other people, we're all adults. We are going to eventually reserve a cabin in Adventure of the Seas sailing from San Juan (Puerto Rico). The thing is that I don't have that much experience with cruises and we went to a travel agent but she was completely clueless of the sail dates. So we went to the RC page and decided to make a reservation. I remember the travel agent saying that we had to be sure that any price we got on the cruise included two types of taxes. I'm confused since on RC page it says it doesn't include taxes, yet on the final price it says it does.
Price for 3 people
Cruise Fare $1,947.00 USD
Optional Items $0.00 USD
Taxes/Fees $111.54 USD (there 37.14 or something per person)
Is this the taxes the agent talked about? Someone I know said that in taxes alone I would spend 200 per person so I'm confused. How does 200 go to 30 something dollars? Do I need to pay aditional costs (other than gratuites, of course)??
Thanks In Advance
PS: *Prices shown in U. S. Dollars including Government taxes and fees.
That's what it said on the final price.

I reserve cruises on RC's web site all the time. But I have no idea what the TA was talking about. When you reserve a cruise on their site it gives you the total fare for the cabin and then you can click on a link just below the total which says, "see details of this fare" or something like that and a window will pop up that shows the details of the fare and taxes for each person.
In the past cruise lines used to list taxes and port fees separately. But now that just lump them together and add them to the fare for your total. When you book your cruise the web site will ask if you want airfare included, if you want travel insurance, and if you want to pre-pay the gratuities (tips). If you select My Time Dining (you go to dinner whenever you want) you must pre-pay the gratuities. Gratuities are about $11.50 per person in your cabin per day.
If you book a 7 day cruise you'll pay an initial deposit of $250 per person and the balance will be due 65 days before your cruise. All of that information is on the web site. Forget what the TA said. If you still have a question call the RC's customer service number and they will gladly answer your questions and get things straight for you.
Taxes and fees depend on where the ship is going. So "someone" might have paid $200, but you've been quoted the right ones for the cruise you picked.
That is your total price including all taxes and port fees. No add'l fees until you embark you'll have to pay onboard charges such as for alcoholic beverages, specialty restaurants, spa, excursions and gratuities. Have a nice cruise.
