a friend of mine gave me a really screwed up laptop and the operating system is so rubish. so,i downloaded like 4 windows xp from the interent cause that's what he wants to install and i go i put the cd key and bla bla bla,and then i have to restart,i restart and then a screen appears to me and says windows xp professional and under it windows xp profesional setup,i click setupt cause if i hit the ohter it starts up regular and then a blue screen comes up and has a lot of geek stuff on it and i was wondering what the hell i have to do for this to work. thanks\1

First of all make sure the file you downloaded is an iso image. If so burn it to a disc. Then insert the disc. Then @ the black screen upon restart hit F8 this will boot from your cd now you will see a blue screen, read what it says dont ignore it or your asking for trouble. Now install a fresh copy of windows on C: and keep pressing enter it should take you to the formatting stage and Voila! Your done.
