my Compaq Presario F500 wontrealy start up.i tried removing the power. i tried removing the hdd,the ram holding the power boton for 90 seconds but it wont wirk.any way in a little mad(a little) that this $500 laptop crapped out.ps the wifi switch split open i didn't drop it,it just up and died.will that void my warinty?Update:no the computer wont boot up. the LED's and the light idacating A/C power come on, but the monitor stays dead. the a few seconds later it shuts off. Start up problem with Compaq Presario F500?

my Compaq Presario F500 wontrealy start up.

when you say it wont start up do you mean that windows wont start up?

if that's the case it can be software related rather then hardware. if you can go into bios, by pressing f10 or f12 right when you press the on button, then it's most likely a bad hdd or the operating system is corrupt. depends on what the warranty covers, they might fix the wifi switch but not the windows xp/vista on the laptop for sure
