Temporary memory loss?
I have to do a story in English and it has to be about natural disasters and it has to be realistic. I want my character to get hit badly on the head and suffer memory loss, but then she finds her sister's doll, buried in the rubble and the memories start flooding in. Is this realistic or can it not happen?

shock can cause tempory memory lose as well - ptsd are any of dissociate disorders, for example in a grave moment of extreme pain the memory bes wiped from your brain to save yourself from facing it
It happens. My opinion is that it happens sometime to everyone of us.
Please tell me whether you want creative ideas of your own, or borrow created ideas by others. In these days nobody will be able to survive, if they don't charge some fees for such good ideas.
