Transfer files from a laptop to a pc?
have a laptop here(w/out internet on it) and a pc with a version of linux on it(xubuntu) i have photos i want to put on the pc but am having problems doing so. want to know if it is possible to transfer the pics from my laptop to my pc using a usb cable. is all i have available to me at the moment. any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

The only way you can do this with a USB cable is to use an external hard drive or a jump drive (depending on the size of your files). If you need to somehow connect the 2 computers to each other you would need what is called a Crossover cable which looks like a ethernet cable but is NOT an ethernet cable.
