two lan ports?
is it possible for me to have two lan ports in one computer. one port is connected to my laptop and the other port is connected to my internet connection? can the laptop connect to the internet if these computer is connected via crossover?

Yes, you can use Internet Connection Sharing(ICS)for what you describe. Why not just use a wireless router and then your laptop could be mobile?
