About 9 months ago I started having very severe stomach pains in my upper right area of my stomach, and periodically it would occur in my very low section of my abdomen. It came and went so i assumed it was the foods i was eating. I tried eating healthier foods for weeks, i upped my fiber intake and hoped it would stop. but the pain was always floating around still, then about 3 months ago i went to a doctor and she assumed that i had gallstones, she sent me to a ultrasound, but my ultrasound was clear to her and said that i might just have acid re-flux. The radiology place i went to has a "patient portal" where i could view what the ultrasound tech said about my test. everything was normal, but in a sentence it was written that my gallbladder is "physiologically distended without filling defects or wall thickening" I tried to ask my doctor what that meant but she was almost writing me off. i dont understand what that means, could someone possibly help me and should i seek further help? since my ultrasound and even trying acid re-flux meds the pain is still consistent and hurts very much. Thanks to whoever can help!

Well I'm only 16, but when I was only 14, I was having extreme stomach pain like you described. Only my pain was everywhere and I had many many symptoms. About 3 months after developing my pain, I had an abdominal ultrasound that showed my gallbladder was constricted. I think that's what it was. I'm not completely sure because I was too young to understand! But my dr made me get a hida scan which is like a ct scan of all of those organs. The liver, the gallbladder, the spleen.. They injected me with this substance through an iv and I guess whatever it was its equivalent to eating a meal high in fat. Your gallbladder is supposed to store this stuff called bile, and after you eat it secretes it. When people have gallstones, the chemical compound in their bile is unbalanced. Sometimes people even throw up bile or it comes out in their stool. A diet high in fat is a huge reason why this happens so I'm assuming that's why they inject you with that thick yellow stuff. If you google a hida scan I'm sure you'll be able to get a better understanding about it. Well even though my ultrasound was abnormal, my hida scan showed that my gallbladder was working fine so we scratched that off the list and 2 months after that, I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy and I was diagnosed with IBS and acid reflux! Acid reflux is a ***** and it causes me excruciating amounts of pain! So that COULD be what you have.
The Ultrasound seems normal. You may be having Gastritis. Regular meals, and, no stress must be adhered to, if you need to avoid Gastritis.
