Do another video this time with a new memory card. Remember to format the card first before using.
Are you copying from camera to computer via cable, or just off the memory card? There are any number of reasons either will fail, and none of them are good. However, that is probably not where the problem lies.
Canon video is Quicktime format, so you must have Apple Quicktime (or compatible software) installed on your computer to even see the video. Windows by itself does not, and cannot play the files. You can click and drag all day long, but Windows will still refuse to do anything useful with the file.
Quicktime is a free download, although last time I looked, Apple also forced you to download iTunes with it. There are other version available out there, Google "quicktime video player".
Is it a laptop or desktop computer? If you have a laptop, there should be a slot to put it in and then a little box will pop up to say if you want to import or whatever, and you say you want to import. Then everything else will follow. You name your pictures/videos, and it should work. If you don't have a laptop, bring your chip to someone that does have one, and you can upload it on theirs, send the videos and pictures to your e-mail as attachments and then go onto your computer, bring up that e-mail, and download the videos and pictures to your computer. See if that works. If it does, or doesn't, e-mail me so I can see if it worked out for you. Hope this helps
I just took a mini movie with my A570IS and had no problem downloading to Windows Movie Maker and also played in Windows Media player. I downloaded with my card reader. I am running VISTA. I have downloaded the codec pack. I did not have to convert anything.
http://www.handbrake.fr/ this is a free video converter.

What OS are you running? If it's Vista espcially 64bit then that is the problem. Go to camcorder website and look for a vista compatible driver.
Perhaps you what software is installed on your computer, or you set your camera what features you can look at the instructions。
