can anybody give me a step by step on how to remove the coil packs and ignition control module? do i have to take of the exhaust manifold? please help!!!
I start by looking at the packs and what has to be removed to get them out. In the 3100 You need to remove the complete assy to seperate them later because it is nearly impossible to get the 3 bolts out. Just take them out after removing the assy. You do not need to remove the manifolds.

To remove either, first disconnect Negative battery cable.
To remove an individual coil pack, remove two spark plug wires, and two (?) fasteners, and pull straight up.
To remove entire DIS assembly as a unit;

No, they're not even attached to the Exhaust Manifold, or below it, like in the 2.2L.
To replace module, remove assembly from car, remove coil packs from module, remove module from assembly plate.
