Admitting a police report into evidence?
In Mock trial, I'm writing a direct for a lieutenant that saw the whole accident and wrote a police report. I know there is a hearsay issue, but I'm not too sure under what exception the police report would fall under. 803 (6) ? Any help is appreciated!

How is it hearsay? Your witness, the Lt. SAW the incident. As such he is the 'best evidence', and in trial you would simply ask him it the report contained a full, true, and accurate account of it. THEN you would have it admitted as evidence (as well as read or overview it to the court).
