(from and IRISH-American, 48 years old)
I have several black friends who agree (as suggested by one of them, not me) that the Irish share many historical parallels with A-As ... enforced slavery, subjugation, deportation from their homeland, denigration, rape, and degradation by oppressors, etc.
I see a great deal of A-A recollection of their past ("roots"), some therapeutic, some not - have the Irish addressed and reconciled these issues, or just buried them to keep peace with britain?

most Irish Americans that I know keep the pride. so they dont let it get to them.
Can't compare to what we face TODAY. Because no one would even know you are, irish, italian, english, french, german, or any other European American unless you said so.
I know MANY people with all of these in them and they have blonde hair, blue eyes and are VERY white in complexion.
Where as if you're black, People SEE that automatically, you wouldn't have to tell someone you're black if you are brown or dark skinned with REALLY CURLY or Stiff hair.
Many Irish people in America (same with jews) change their last names and other traditions to be the "typical white american" to me these people are WHITE (unless they are not ashamed of who they are), it is just basically white hating on white. All I know is, MOST people, even blacks hate blacks, so I don't think there is no comparison.
can no longer evaluate to what we face immediately. because of the fact no person could even comprehend you're, irish, italian, english, french, german, or another ecu American till you reported so. I comprehend MANY persons with all of those in them and that they have got blonde hair, blue eyes and are VERY white in complexion. the place as while you're black, human beings SEE that automatically, you does not could inform somewhat each and every person you're black once you're brown or dark skinned with somewhat CURLY or Stiff hair. Many Irish persons in u.s. (equivalent with jews) distinction their very final names and various traditions to be the "time-honored white american" to me those human beings are WHITE (till they don't seem to feel embarrassment approximately who they are), that's in straightforward terms very nearly white hating on white. All I comprehend is, maximum persons, even blacks hate blacks, so i don't experience there is no assessment.
That may very well be true. Many different cultures share a history of abuse/slavery that may seem very similar. -I don't think anyone has really addressed this issue though.
I never thought of that. Thanks for the learning experience.
I don't know.
