I'm traveling from New Orleans to Miami. I'm using an app called trip adiviser and Skyscanner to get cheap tickets and would like to know which out of the three airlines are a better choice. If anyone who reads this has experienced anything life threatening or traumatizing on while using one of these airlines please share! Is Southwest Airlines a better choice than the three listed above?

I've flown all three - I actually got killed on a United fight but got better
Southwest is a better choice money wise. You get 2 free checked bags and a carry on. With all the others your required to pay for your checked bags. I've flown all 4 before and never experienced any traumatic events or anything. And the plane comfort quality is quite random if your're flying anything other than virgin america. American has some really nice and comfortable planes and so does southwest. I fly those most often. I've flown delta and United once before and was not impressed with the comfort quality and amenities. but it could vary on which plane you're on like both American and Southwest. But southwest will come out the cheapest hands down because you wont have to pay for a checked bag.
I grew up only flying American Airlines or Southwest. We fly A.A more often though because the airport they services off of is 2minutes away.(we are 1mile from a runway). That airport services all airlines(U.A,Delta, Qantas, Emirates, Aeromexico etc. etc.) except for Southwest. As for Southwest they service off of an airport 35 minutes away. Our favorite is Southwest due to check bag flying for free, very reliable &safe aircraft (Boeing 737-300) &some other awesome service.Due to convenience we fly A.A&we have never had a problem or delay(knock on wood). The service is just as friendly, they have a variety of aircraft that's safe &reliable too(it's nice to see new airbuses every so often) but they also have the reliable Boeing 737-300 the only complaint I have is just the cost of checked bags.As for my opinions on United Airlines &Delta I can't say much because I never flew with them.I heard Delta and Alaska have excellent service too,as for United I haven't heard much positivity from them.
Southwest is the most affordable.
There really isn't much of a difference between them, especially when you are talking about that short of a flight.
Don't forget Southwest, which won't show up on any other ticket sites. You have to buy on their website. You;ll also have to fly to Ft Lauderdale.
Once you pick a flight, buy the ticket on the airline's website, not a third party site. The ticket prices are the same. The only thing those third party sites might get you is a good package deal for a hotel and/or rental car (which the airlines can also do sometimes).
Like eatbabyseals said, read the fine print. All three of those airlines have now introduced a basic economy fare that severely restricts your ability to bring a carry-on or pick your seat.
American, United and Delta have pretty similar levels of service. I would go with the airline that has the cheapest flight and/or most convenient flight time.
The good thing about Southwest is that you are allowed up to 2 checked bags to fly for free. However there is no assigned seating.
We are frequent flyers on UA and like them just fine. They are Star Alliance with Lufthansa, too, which is nice sometimes. And of course they fly nonstop, depending on where you are going.
Be sure to read the fare terms carefully. All of those airlines sell basic fares which do not include carry on, no seat selection and of course cannot be changed or refunded.
So it's really whichever is cheapest or departs or arrives at a time you like.
American is the only one that offers nonstop.otherwise, you'll have to transfer somewhere
They're all the same, it's about price. The most important thing is they get you there safely
I usually fly UA. never had bad experiences with them. I've flown AA a couple times, also don't recall bad experiences. i've never flown Delta.
