American ladies: How do you feel when a guy opens your car door?
I've noticed that when I date women in their 30's, they seem to appreciate it, but in their 20's, they seem almost weirded out by it. That could be a difference in social mores across decades - or difference in maturity levels - or just my imagination. Interested in your answers, and if you don't mind, include your approximate age (i.e., 20's, 30's, 40's is fine). It's kind of instinctive for me to open doors for dates, but I don't want to come off as strange or 'trying too hard'. Thanks!!

I personally think its very nice and I am 20. I also think that if it's instinctive for you then keep doing it, it won't come off as strange or 'trying to hard' to the right person. You shouldn't have to change good manners unless your trying to score.

I love it when a guy opens the door for me and waits patently for me it shows that a man likes you and he cares for you when he opens the door for you. Also when a guy doesn't it's like ok why didn't he open the door for me. It's one of the characteristics that shows real good in a guy / man And by the way i'm 16 way under 30
I think it's awesome if you open doors in general; it shows you're looking out for us. A car door is no different. My ex-bf used to do open my car door and shut it when I got in as well. Once, he even buckled me in and it was sexy, not weird. It also makes me believe that chivalry is not dead!
