An Elusive Emo/Punk/Pop Song?

Alright, this one's going to be obscure, but this has been bothering me for about three years now and I know that SOMEONE out there has to have the answer. In 2008, I remember liking a song by a band whose name I do not remember. It was a kind of punk/emo/pop band, something along the lines of Paramore, only all the members were male. The lead singer had medium length brown hair and I remember that he was singing into one of those old 1940's-type microphones.

I don't remember the melody, the lyrics, the name of the song, or the band. I just remember that the music video (so it must have been a single, since it had a music video) involved a bunch of young guys moving into college, they were carrying boxes into a dorm and stuff, and during the shots of the band playing, the lead singer had an old-style microphone that he was singing into.

That's it. That's all I can give you. Please. It wasn't even a fantastic song. I just have no ******* clue what it was, and I have absolutely no way of finding out, because I don't remember a single word from the song. But for the last three years, I've been driving myself crazy trying to remember what it was, I even found a list of all the punk bands from the last ten years and tried to see if any names rung a bell, but I've got nothing.

Some punk/pop enthusiast out there is a fan of this band and knows exactly what video I am talking about. If so, PLEASE TELL ME BECAUSE IT'S DRIVING ME OFF THE WALL!

Thank you :)

Update:

Michael - You're on the right track, and there's even an MCR video for The Ghost of You where Gerard sings into one of those old-style mics, but alas, not so. It's something along the lines of Taking Back Sunday or Cartel, I just have absolutely no idea who it is.
