in Arizona- a person under the age of 21 can not rent a car. a parent has to co-sign. I am hoping that your state is better. Remember- to be declared an adult -you have to legally uphold that contract. If you default on the business or those contracts-you can be held in a very adult jail or prison.***there is no emancipation status for those two states***
I'm not sure about Tennessee or Kentucky, however, Florida doesnt really recognize it. I got married at 16(had to be emacipated first, of course), yet I couldn't even rent an apartment, because they said that underage minors couldnt enter into a legal contract. Even after I produced a marriage license, the answer was still no. I've also found that with most car rental companies, they refuse to let me rent a car under 21. They didnt recognize I could raise 2 kids, be married for almost 5 years, and support a husband deployed with the Army. Most states wont recognized people under 18 as "adults" unless there's a co-signer that's over 21 participating in the deal.
Yes!! That is the reasoning of the Emancipation Proclamation. The following site, if you click on Tennessee, will give a case, not like yours, but it has some of the laws listed in it.
Other searches will give you more information also.
Yes. My boyfriend and I own our own buisness and hes 17 im 18 and neither of us are emancipated. well i dont have to be. lol so im guessing in other states its the same.
