Bought a used certified honda accord when carfax says it wasn't in accident, we come to find out it looked like there was fender damage done to it and looked like it was fixed and never reported. Dealer says they will fix the problem free. Can I try to back out of this deal or ask for a better car at the same price as this one or just let them fix it? No engine damage, just fender damage.
Update:One thing to point out is that the salesperson said this car was never in an accident, otherwise they would not have sold the car to anyone or got it certified and he said they forgot to ask me to sign some other papers. I know salespeople bend the truth just to sale but this is a pretty big lie. And it is a major dealer here.

No.
Just let them fix it!! Over 50% of all cars on the road and/or on car lots have been in minor accidents and if repaired properly you can never tell. Carfax is just a Marketing tool and does not always reflect what a car has gone through. There are no strict laws requiring that damage, maintenance, repairs or problems be reported or tracked. Good Luck
Yes You Can Get Out If You ASKED and they told you it hasn't been in a accident, but it MUST be within 72 hours of signing, but man it's a Honda, even if it has 100,000 miles on it,it's still going to last another 80,000 easily,i had 7 Honda's the years and serviced oil and filters every 3,000 miles, used genuine filter and castrol gtx oil, and Flushed the radiator once a year..that's,they all went 230,000-270,000 miles virtually trouble free,ac compressors go out near 80-100,000 miles front brakes twice before a hundred thousand miles then a set of rear pads, the front CV drive shafts startto click around 110,000 miles ,most popular auto parts have them for 90-100 bucks each, they are 250-350 each at dealer,30 minutes to swap 'em out most models..you sshouldn'tbout it unless you straighten the steering wheel then drive thru a wet spot you create with your water hose to see that all 4 tire tracks ride over ontop evenly of each sides wet tire print,if not ,..shes bent and will eat tires like butter on hot toast dude, good luck.
"Can I try to back out of this deal "
Absolutely not.
"ask for a better car at the same price as this one "
Are you retarded? Why would you get something BETTER for the same price? What fantasy world do you live in?
"when carfax says it wasn't in accident"
That's because it wasn't. A fender bender doesn't generally get reported to Carfax.
And Carfax SPECIFICALLY states that they only report to you, what has been reported to them.
So little bumps, dents, etc, will NOT be on there.
They said they would fix it, they will fix it. But no, you cannot breach your contract, and there's no way in hell you can get something better, for no reason.
if its just fender damage and no frame damage and the dealer is willing to take care of it, what is the point? all accidents are not reported, especially minor ones. i have been hit and got offered cash on the spot not to go through the insurance, got my vehicle fixed and that was that.
it was your responsibility to get the car checked out before signing any paperwork
Until and unless you take delivery, there is no purchase and no cashable contract on the part of the dealership. As to your deposit, I don't know what the law is in MD. I work for a major dealership in Florida and we do not keep deposits as a matter of business practice. We will, however, deduct the out of pocket expense incurred for the dealer trade, i.e., cost of paying a driver to drive a car out and the new one back.
Sorry, you have no right to cancel. If the dealer will fix it, great. If not, it's still your car and you can't cancel.
