cant log on compaq notebook?
hey i have a compaq laptop that i got from a friend and i cant log on because i dont know he password and he forgot it and isnt there a way to bypass it by going into the bios settings please help

Which password, a HDD password which usually pops up at boot, or the Windows login password? It's difficult to answer your question not knowing which applies in your specific case. If it is a HDD password, you should be able to go into BIOS and reset it somehow. If a Windows password, you'll have to have a password reset disk in order to reset the password.
