I have a dell laptop...it was about *$800 and i dont think its a gaming computer

I also have a monitor and Gateway computer tower in my room also..my laptop has better resolution than the monitor...but will the tower for my monitor be able to support minecraft and make it run faster? Because i dont like how it is on my laptop...i mean my laptop runs kinda fast goood resolution and i can run minecraft if i change the render distance to short or tiny and stuff...but i would like to run Minecraft at the best settings. How can i chceck to see which computer would be better for Minecraft? And can anyone suggest computers good to play Minecraft on?
